Largest mosque in Canada to be unveiled
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community will unveil Canada's largest Mosque Complex and a stunning architectural landmark in Calgary this weekend.
With a total area of approximately 48,000 sq. ft. the new Mosque will aim to be a symbol of peace and social harmony.
The Head of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Mirza Masroor Ahmad will inaugurate the new mosque.
The Prime Minister, Stephen Harper - Leader of National Liberal Party, Stephene Dion - His Worship Dave Bronconnier, Mayor of Calgary, together with other senior community and political figures and the larger Calgary community will attend the opening ceremony.
The inauguration of the mosque coincides with the current year long celebration of the Centenary of the Khilafat (Caliphate) in the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
The Ahmadiyya Community is renowned for reminding Muslims around the world that "loyalty to your homeland (Canada), is part of your faith".
According to the President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Canada, Mr. Lal Khan Malik, "the opening of this mosque is an historic occasion for the Ahmadi Muslims to add to the Canadian society. We invite everyone to use it as a meeting place to build harmony and respect."
"The Community is elated that His Holiness will inaugurate the Mosque with a Friday sermon that will be telecast live-via-satellite across the globe. The mosque is a very important part of the community and will bring Muslims and non-Muslim closer together," he added.
"This mosque will form a very important hub for the community where people will pray and enjoy many other social, sports and cultural activities," said Naseem Mahdi, Missionary Incharge & Senior Vice president of the Community.
It took over two years and CDN 15 million dollars of voluntary donations from the members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
Members of the Community from all across Canada made personal financial sacrifices to help complete this project. Additional mosque projects are in various stages at in Vancouver, Saskatoon and Brampton.

We, unlike certain other muslim groups, are not funded by non-Muslims - we do not accept any government funding or grants for the building of our mosques. However, if you ask some other mosques they will be able to give you figures of how much they receive in governtment grants and funding.
And as for the Ahmadiyya Jama'at being 'unfounded bullshitters' - your obscene language clearly shows who is founded on what!!

Mr Siraj lets get real, you are trying to tell us that a guy who died on the toilet was a prophet( not in the literal sense). You should reconsider your beliefs and try not to follow a guy from the 19th century. If you aren't that bad how come most muslim countries have banned you and ostricised your few followers?

Sunni Muslim, I wonder whoever gave you the authority to declare anyone a Non-Muslim. I have been told that one who calls a Muslim a Kafir becomes a Kafir himself. Either way, we Ahmadies don’t worry too much about whether you consider us Muslims or Non Muslims. Me and other Ahmadies, like the rest of the universe is answerable to the One, the Almighty Allah and to him shall we return. As long as He is pleased with us, and accept that we are in the right path, we are not too bothered about being rejected, ostracised, maimed or killed by the opponents of the truth because we know that the reward will be beyond anyone’s imagination.

If Muslims across the world spent more time worrying about real problems in society, rather than inciting hatred and lies against Ahmadi Muslims who hold the prophet Muhammad (saw) in the highest exteem, perhaps the ummah would not be in the sorry state we see.

Ibn Habeeb...I have read & looked upon the works of very very knowledgeable scholars who are recognised as so by the world over when referring to Islam and each & everyone of them has rejected this group as being Muslims...They certainly know more about your group than I do and I have not just followed their teachings blindly but considered them in depth before coming to a judgment...You carry on with your works and we will carry on with ours..but I still stand by what I say and my friend there is no point quoting paragraphs of text to me...it will not make an ounce of difference to me.

Imam Abu-Hanifa states that

He also said, "Jesus, son of Mary (peace be upon him), will descend upon them and their leader will say (to him), 'Come and lead us in prayer.' He will say, 'No, Allah has honored this Nation by putting some as leaders over others.'" [Saheeh Muslim] [/quote]
No wonder you are not within the fold of Islam, if you reject the hadith, then you reject the sayings of the prophet and if you reject the prophet how can you call yourself muslims ?

There is plenty of literature out there that portrays Islam as a demonic religion naudobillah. To all of you nay sayers, our only request is read our literature in the whole and not clips and cut and paste jobs you see in anti-Ahmadiyya literature and then make your decision.
