New Gujarati Muslims matrimonial website

A new website has been launched aiming to make it easier for Gujarati Muslims to find prospective marriage partners.

The service is the brainchild of a Lancashire based woman known as Auntie Yasmin and is believed to be the first of its kind catering exclusively for Gujarati Muslims and is completely free.

Ms Yasmin said such a service catering for Gujrati Muslims was long overdue.

"I am very much aware of the dilemma facing parents and the younger generation when it comes to finding someone suitable for marriage.

"Sadly in this day and age the divorce rate amongst the Muslim community is quite alarming. One of the reasons being, lack of compatibility between the partners.

"Many of the younger generation, these days, choose to marry someone they are compatible with, and finding someone suitable is by no means, an easy task.

"As a result, the age of our single Gujarati Muslim community is increasing, causing a great deal of concern and frustration for families.

"Many parents are quite happy for their sons and daughters to marry within the UK but would still choose to use the traditional route.

"Finding someone suitable is not a major problem if you have a large extended family or community network of people who may know someone, they think you will be compatible with."

Yasmin feels there are many people, who are not as fortunate because they do not fit into this category.

"For them the only option is to go via 'matchmakers' in the community.

"Matchmakers do a wonderful job in our community, but problems have arisen where the information provided to them by parents is often limited or incorrect, this has resulted in many unnecessary meetings and a great deal of time and effort being wasted for both families".

She feels, what she is doing is improving the method, by involving the sons and daughters to provide their details directly and allowing them to choose whether or not they wish to meet the other person, yet still ensuring that it is ultimately the parents who are responsible for arranging the meeting.

"Many people who have signed up for the service have done so because it is done Islamically and is not one where the boy and girl can chat online and meet and date.

"People who have used other matchmaking sites can benefit by signing up as they would have the opportunity of being matched to someone who for one reason or another would never use an online matrimonial website.

Gujarati Single Muslims is a free, personal and confidential service, available to the Gujarati Muslim community.

This is not an online service but uses the internet to speed up the process.

Further details on how the service works it available on the website www.gsmuslims.co.uk.

Ms Yasmin aims to build the largest database of Gujarati Single Muslims in the UK.
